Skadi
Skadi (or Skade) is, in Norse mythology, a jotne woman and Goddess for hunting and skiing. Because Loki kills her father, the jotne Tjatse, she chooses the God Njord to be her husband as penance. Skadi wishes to live on the mountain where she can hunt and ski, but Njord wishes to live by the ocean where he can fish and travel. The try living in both places, changing every 9 days between the mountain and by the ocean, but Skadi cannot sleep with the cries of the seagulls and longs for the mountains, and Njord cannot sleep with the howls of the wolves and longs for the ocean. They decide to live separately, and Skadi skis all over the mountains, hunting with bow and arrow.
